🎉 Today marks a milestone. After months of development and 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry, I'm thrilled to officially launch CoverDad — a platform built specifically for dads who want to understand life insurance without the pressure, confusion, or runaround.
The Story Behind CoverDad
My name is Rob Lasa, and I've spent over 15 years in insurance and financial services. I owned and operated an independent insurance agency for 10 years. During that time, I earned my licenses (2-20 General Lines, 2-15 Life, Health, Variable Annuity).
But here's what really drove me to create CoverDad: I saw too many dads confused and overwhelmed by life insurance.
They didn't need another salesperson calling them at dinner time. They didn't need jargon-filled brochures. They needed clear, honest education and tools to understand their family's needs — then make an informed decision.

The Problem I Kept Seeing
Throughout my career, I noticed three consistent problems:

Search "how much life insurance do I need" and you'll get bombarded with contradictory advice, complicated formulas, and aggressive ads. Most resources were either too basic or too technical.
2. Pushy Sales Tactics
Traditional insurance shopping meant endless phone calls, high-pressure pitches, and agents prioritizing commission over what's actually right for your family.
3. No Clear Starting Point
Dads wanted to know "How much do I actually need?" before talking to anyone. They wanted to educate themselves first, then engage when they felt ready.
So I decided to build the solution I wish had existed when I was starting my own family.

Right now, CoverDad is licensed in Florida, where I'm based. But we're not stopping there.
We're actively working to expand to Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, and Virginia throughout 2026. Our goal is to help dads across the country protect their families with confidence.
Beyond CoverDad: My Mission for Dads
CoverDad is part of a larger mission I've committed to: helping dads become better versions of themselves.
I also run "Soul Dad Rob" and "Fore the Soul" — brands focused on personal growth, mental clarity, and finding purpose as a father. Whether it's through golf (a passion of mine), mindfulness, or building legacy, I believe dads deserve support in all areas of life.
